Alistair Cameron, the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Tewkesbury, was speaking at a candidates' debate at Cleeve School. He told the packed hall: ' Wingmoor Farm needs to close. It should not be allowed to continue. The Liberal Democrats are trying to bring in green policies to protect the environment. People should not have to put up with a dump on their doorstep.'

The tip is currently in the middle of a bid to renew its planning application, and many residents of Bishop's Cleeve have objected to the plans.
